About Us
This project is the genesis of a bigger campaign called Wildhearts for
empowerment, health, and freedom: cultivating healthy culture especially for young people.
Wildheart Media is a new company founded by a woman with a dream: to help kids
adopt better models for healthy living.
The reality of today’s society: Basic, spirit-enriching values and messages get
buried under all the negative, shallow culture as it noisily encroaches on our
little sisters as they go through their most impressionable years: the teenage
years. The reason for Wildheart Media coming to being is to be a forum and
resource to promote healthier girl culture and inoculate negative culture from
having bad side effects on our little sisters everywhere.
The Origin of Wildhearts for Healthy Living; cultivating empowerment, health,
and freedom for our little sisters everywhere and how it works:
As twenty-somethings, we've all been there done that, and survived. As the
founder of Wildheart Media, it is my dream to help light the way for little sisters everywhere by calling for submissions, and compiling the
collective wisdom and insight from twenty-something women all over the nation.
Starting off small and working our way to a national release, it the vision of
Wildheart Media to partner with other organizations and nonprofits who share
this mission and who will use this book as a resource in their programs. The
values Wildheart endorses and is promoting in this book are: good self image and
self confidence, validation from within, enfranchisment, ways to develop
patience, hope, and the capacity to struggle and tolerate ambiguity in the midst
of a culture that breeds instant gratification. Those plans are being formed
now, if you have a favorite organization you’d like us to potentially partner
with, please contact us.
Part two of this campaign, Wildheart is publishing an online community through
the official website where girls can come for more information, expanded from
the book; find links for further reading or other communities; post more questions for twenty-somethings to dialog on; and listen to a regular
airing of podcasts or interviews with twenty-somethings on several topics
relevant to their world. The online community will support an ongoing forum for
girls to come to for answers, learn healthy living models, see new careers, and
know they are a catalyst for cultural change.
This, Wildheart Media’s first book, is what we hope to be the first of a series
to promote healthier lifestyles for young America. Beginning with the
testimonials and personal stories of women in my immediate network, we encourage anyone who
has a meaningful experience to relate, to please send in your submission for
publication.
Remember, we’re grass roots, so there’s no swanky sweepstakes involved if you
get published. Only the glory of knowing your experience and wisdom has been a
beacon of light for many youngsters out there.
